The Breeder Burnbrae Australian Labradoodles are a small family run breeder in South West Scotland. We have fallen in love with this breed, as we have found the Australian Labradoodle to be the ultimate family companion - Intelligent, Affectionate, Loyal and Sociable and we are dedicated to breeding happy, quality puppies from good natured, health-tested parents. What is an Australian Labradoodle? There is a reason for establishing most breeds, for example, dogs good at herding cattle/sheep, dogs used for hunting. Australian Labradoodles were bred for working with people with disabilities, hearing or sight impairments. A great deal of research established a breed that sheds less and is less allergenic than other service dogs. Now, a recogniseable breed in its' own right, the Australian Labradoodle differs from the straight poodle/labrador cross due to the infusion of other breeds to give us the temperament and type we now see in these beautiful dogs. What breeds have contributed to the Australian Labradoodle? Poodle Labrador Retriever English Cocker Spaniel American Cocker Spaniel Irish Water Spaniel Curly Coated Retriever Temperament Australian Labradoodles are sweet natured, friendly, loyal and loving dogs, lacking in agression. Indeed the founder of the breed specifically focussed on these characteristics, and only used non-dominant males and females in the original breeding programme, resulting in the sweet natured friendly dogs we see today. Here, at Burnbrae Australian Labradoodles, we have imported our foundation bitch directly from a well-established and respected breeder in Australia, and shall endeavour to breed carefully and maintain the high standards of this lovely breed. |
